Lance Armstrong forfeit

Lance Armstrong has pulled out of cycling classic Milan-San Remo on Saturday, claiming gastroenteritis.

RadioShack His team found that the seven-time Tour de France will be replaced by the Japanese Fumiyuki Beppu.

Toronto’s Michael Barry, who is aligned to the Sky team will be the start of the race.

Armstrong was ranked 125th in San Remo last year in one of his first races on his return after a three-year retreat. Before retiring, he had played Milan-San Remo on six occasions, an event he never won.

The next race scheduled on Armstrong is now the Criterium International, the next weekend in Corsica. It crosses the road from its main rival and former teammate, Alberto Contador, who also decided to follow him to the Criterium.
