Beaten “surprise” to Novak Djokovic Fernando Verdasco

Fernando Verdasco beat overwhelmingly Serbian Novak Djokovic 6-1 6-2 in the semifinals of the Kooyong Classic exhibition tournament that is held as a prelude to the Australia Open, which begins Monday, and for which he presented his credentials .

The Madrid just needed 52 minutes to beat his rival, and hoped that this victory will serve to reach potential moral and remember their last year’s semifinals when he lost in the first Grand Slam of the year in an epic encounter with the then champion Rafael Nadal.

Verdasco showed absolute control, Serb broke serve in the first and third games, for a 5-0 lead in the first set and conquer without a problem.

Djokovic, overshadowed in the first set, also lost the initial, causing him to react and provide a timid reaction, which was not bright enough to Verdasco who responded masterfully to Serbian gunfire from the baseline.

His final opponent will be Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who played his semifinal match by the withdrawal through injury of Juan Martin del Potro, who did not jump the track by a problem in the wrist.

“I felt pretty good today, despite the conditions,” said Verdasco, who is not affected by strong winds from the Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, but recognizing that the result “was a surprise.

“Never go out to the track, and unless someone like Novak Djokovic, thinking they’re going to win 6-1 6-2,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Serbian said that was not found who shot well from the track. “Verdasco played well, but I made many unforced errors,” he said.
