Other tour victory for Big Papi
David Ortiz hit his second homer of the game to break a tie in the ninth inning to get a win 3 at 2 against the Chicago White Sox Wednesday.
He was a 9th Circuit dramatic for Ortiz in the Red Sox uniform, which allows him to shatter the record of Jimmie Foxx.
Upon his return from the disabled list, Tim Wakefield pitched seven innings. The artist of the knuckle ball, however, was deprived of victory when Jayson Nix hit the circuit equalizer off reliever Ramon Ramirez in the eighth.

The Angels smile again
Torii Hunter hit a two-run homer, Joe Saunders was effective on the mound for five innings in his return to the rotation and the Angels of Los Angeles won 4-2 over the Detroit Tigers to end a sequence of three defeats.
Kendry Morales and Chone Figgins have also score points for the Angels, the only formation of Major League Baseball not to have suffered four straight loss this season. The leaders of the West Division have also avoided suffering a sweep at home for the first time since June 2007.
As for the Tigers, they have not managed a sweep on the road against the Angels for the first time since August 1993.
Hunter had a successful tour, 18th of the season in the first inning against Edwin Jackson (10-6), who collected his first loss since July 19.
Adam Everett hit a two-run homer for the Tigers, who have won eight of their last twelve games.
Saunders (10-7) allowed four hits, two walks and struck out six strikeouts.
At its first outing in eight days, the stopper Brian Fuentes hit two batters, but clung to earn his 36th salvage in 41 opportunities.
Productive day for Sizemore
Grady Sizemore crossed the marble three times while David Huff has rebounded from an earlier departure deficient and the Cleveland Indians won 4-2 over the Kansas City Royals.
Sizemore went on goals four times after a day off. He came to scoring in the first, third and fifth inning to put the Indians ahead 3-2.
Matt LaPorta hit his second homer in the sixth against Luke Hochevar (6-7). Jamey Carroll had three hits to give Huff (8-7) all the support he needed.
Hochevar allowed three runs and seven hits in six innings. He has won a victory in his last seven starts.
Kerry Wood was perfect ninth to sign a 16th Rescue in 21 chances.
Billy Butler had three hits for Kansas City, which has lost five of its last six games at home.
