Hockey is a team sport that involves using a long stick called a stick to play with a hard ball or a disk and bring it to achieve the opposite goal to score a goal. The way grass is the oldest and famous. 11 players per team participating in outdoor and 5, 6 and 7 indoor. It’s a very old kind of sport that could have originated in Egypt, Greece, Persia and Arabia.
The modern hockey would have been born in England, where he practiced in public schools in the nineteenth century. In 1875 British Association was formed 10 years of hockey and later it was very popular among men and women. In 1908 sport was included in the Olympic Games and in 1924 created the International Hockey Federation (FHI), which were combined male and female games in 1982. Hockey is a popular sport that has organized leagues in many countries.
The items vary depending on the type of hockey. In the case of grass hockey (the original) is used a hard ball of any material, weighing 160 grams and has 23 inches in circumference, and stik (stick), which should not weigh more than 794 grams and the head should be made of wood and measure up to 10 inches. On the court, usually natural grass, but can also be synthetic. It measures 91.4 meters long and 55 wide.
