HENRY ADMITS THE HAND BALL
PARIS – The France captain Henry admits that he touched the ball with his hand before passing it to Gallas goal scored in Ireland. “‘Yes, there’ was a touch of hand but I’m not the referee”, – says Henry – “I was in the area, there were two defenders in front of me. The ball is’ bounced on my hand, the referee has not seen it and I continued to play”. This ‘does not change the fact that he is happy for our qualification’.
The network of Robbie Keane has dragged the world into extra play-off but the tap-in for William Gallas, marred by a double-check the hand of Henry broke the Irish dream in the most ‘cruel and unjust.
