Ferrari unveils his car: the F150
Ferrari has unveiled its new car for next season’s F1 world championship. And Fernando Alonso has said that he is confident it will help make amends after a disappointing 2010 season.
The Italian team is the first F1 team to present its 2011 car, called the F150 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy this year.
The car is equipped with a new adjustable rear wing and has been amended to allow the addition of KERS – system kinetic energy recovery – which was banned last year but will return in 2011.
“The F150 was designed with a simple goal, said the boss Stefano Domenicali. Our goal is to win the championship. We know it will not be easy, but that’s what we want. ”
Alonso came close to achieving the goal last year. He had the opportunity to secure the championship in each of the last two races. But he failed in Brazil and he was then beaten by Sebastian Vettel because of a bad pit stop strategy to change tires in Abu Dhabi.
At the dawn of its second season at Ferrari, the double world champion told that he feels more at ease with his surroundings.
“I think I know better team and I’m better integrated, he noted. Any development carried out throughout 2010 was crucial in designing the new car.
“I’m very motivated. 2010 was an interesting year for me. It was my first with Ferrari and I liked the atmosphere. The 2011 season will be an important year with a new challenge after the law changes. We are committed to do everything possible to win and I think we are able to meet the challenge. ”
Ferrari the constructors’ championship finished third behind Red Bull and McLaren. The team also found at the heart of a controversy when she was accused of having applied the team orders at German Grand Prix.
The team was fined $ 100 000 for asking Felipe Massa, word covered during a radio message, to let Alonso pass while the first was leading the race.
Massa enters his sixth season at Ferrari, but he has not won a Grand Prix since 2008.
The season’s F1 world championship, which includes 20 events, kicks off March 13 in Bahrain and will conclude on November 27 in Brazil.
F. Alonso lays down the law in Singapore
Spain’s Fernando Alonso, Ferrari, won the Grand Prix Sunday Formula 1 Singapore, signing a second consecutive victory after his win in Italy two weeks ago.
Under the lights, the world champion of 2005 and 2006 resulted from one end to another, before winning the Red Bull of Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel on the Marina Bay circuit. He beat Vettel by just two tenths of a second.
“This win is very significant,” said Alonso. We wanted to confirm on a runway in aerodynamics more pronounced than the car was handling well, and that’s what we did. It seems that we can be competitive on n ‘how important track. ”
With 191 points, Alonso was in second place in the Drivers’ World Championship, still dominated by Webber (202 points).
The margin between Alonso and Vettel has remained at about one second for much of the last quarter of the race, but Vettel was unable to passing on the tight track at Marina Bay.
“I tried to push as much as possible to make a mistake,” said Vettel. But it’s not easy to overtake here, and it would have been too risky. ”
Jenson Button was fourth for McLaren, the Mercedes in front of Nico Rosberg’s Williams and Rubens Barrichello.
Second in the championship before the race, Lewis Hamilton of McLaren was abandoned after a collision with Webber, hampering his chances of being crowned world champion.
Hamilton approached the front of the fireball Webber, approaching the corner in the 35th round of 61, but the Australian has not conceded the inside, and there was a collision. The race was over for Hamilton while Webber continued his road, his car was not damaged.
The marshals have studied the sequence but chose not to punish, determining that it was an accident within the limits of fair play of the race.
“It was a key moment in the race for me,” said Webber. I am very happy with my third place. ”
Webber has visited well after only three rounds – a bold strategy that has paid off, passing it from fifth to third place when other drivers went to refuel. By cons, ad it very spare tire wear at the end of the race, which has complicated the task to contain Button.
Hamilton started the race just five points behind the leader in the drivers, but a second straight race without result relegates the now 20 points from Webber.
“I do not really think about a championship,” said Hamilton. I’m just trying to have a nice end of season. I will fight to the end, but we are far from the head. The next four races will be difficult. ”
There are four races before the end of the season. The next Grand Prix will be held in two weeks in Japan.

Ferrari acknowledges he expected more in Monaco
Ferrari admitted that the result of the Monaco Grand Prix, in which their drivers Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso were ranked fourth and sixth, respectively, were below their expectations. In a press release informed Ferrari of the meeting held on Monday at the headquarters of the team, Maranello, where the team’s president, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, congratulated the team for their work in “difficult circumstances” in Monte Carlo .
“Clearly, fourth and sixth are below those expectations could be yesterday, but considering what happened, an outcome to consider in a positive way,” Montezemolo said during the meeting. “We are aware that also in the Monaco circuit has been a team that has shown a higher benefit level and the distance still left to save is still there,” he added.
Things were not quite right to Alonso in the Monaco Grand Prix, it could not participate in the qualifying session, the mechanics could not repair the chassis of the car that crashed during the final session of free practice. The Spanish, who is blocking the front wheels under braking, he hit into the barriers on the right side of the curve of Massenet and pulled the wheels on that side, when they took twenty minutes of evidence and had been shot six laps.
This did not prevent the two-time Formula 1 World on Sunday to finish the race in seventh place, as it later became the sixth after a penalty on Michael Schumacher. Ferrari explains in the note in the next race in Turkey, would open an evolution of the management system of his car rear spoiler and, before the end of June, are provided for other major developments in the F10.

“I enjoy driving again and feel the itch to win,” he said of his move to Ferrari. The Spaniard praised the car that drives this season: “The F10 is the best car I’ve ever driven, but in F1 you can always improve.” And he was blunt to ensure: “We will reach the Red Bull.”
The Spaniard made it clear he is not worried about the problems he has suffered from engine: “The car I see it has been great during the first few races, but for some reason or another we could not make all the points we wanted. I we’ll have a great car in Barcelona and I’m certainly worried. ”
provide a win to the fans ”
“The problems we have had motor are located: it is nothing of the valve system or the engine air intake, as has been written. Montemeló and try to reach the remainder of the championship with a hundred motor one hundred reliable, “said Alonso. “The Ferrari mechanics are very confident to have solved the problems and hope that the fans had a great time and has very good atmosphere, as always”, he added.
The double world champion hopes to get the win at Montmelo: “Hopefully we can bring home a win for the fans. We are working for both the F and other news duct ready for Barcelona. This system is not simple.”
“I have high regard and respect all my rivals. A few can be left more room than others. It’s time to show who is to win the World Cup and who is not. Start a good fight now,” he said.
About Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso of praise: “We have enormous respect for Schumacher. It is true he has not done better start to the season but the best Michael is coming and we know what he is capable.”

Finally, would not comment anything about the overtaking he did to Felipe Massa at the Chinese Grand Prix: “I do not know either very well what he said, but what is clear is that 15 days after a race can no longer talking about important things so minute, so I’m going to refuse to answer. “
Todt: “I am a follower of the FIA, not Ferrari”
Laurent Restaurant, just steps from the Champs Elysees, located in a former hunting lodge, was the scene where Jean Todt first met a select group of media among which was BRAND. It was the first time that Todt spoke to reporters after 100 days of the FIA. “On day 1 marked 100 days of my appointment as President of the FIA and I have not granted any interviews. I wanted to break my silence, “said Todt, blue tie, knitted vest and jacket, with fingernails covered with tape to not eat them and wanted to talk and explain their project to the FIA.

The first half hour was dedicated to the president to review the various activities of the FIA outside sports, such as reducing by half the more than million and half dead on the roads. “The FIA is not only racing, is the environment, roads, security, plenty of things to go unnoticed. Helping to save lives is our main goal, “said Todt.
After his long introduction, went on: F1. First, the economy. “F1 must reduce costs at any price. It is unacceptable that about eight seconds to win a GP2 the budget is crazy, “said Todt (the budget of a GP2 team is 3 million and the F1 up to about 300).
To avoid misunderstanding, clarify that Todt would not come to the FIA or because he earns more money than Ferrari and Peugeot and for being so long as it was Mosley (16). “To me it seems too be more than 8 or 10. I have great passion for the automobile, both sporting and industrial and I think I can do a great job. Things will change only if it improves, “he said.
The F1 is still the center of world attention and the window of the FIA and Todt also want it to be the showcase of technological advances. “F1 should be the standard of environmental friendliness, sustainability and might not spend 80 l/100 km, is madness. The rules of this year I think will be good for that, because the lower power engine will give a significant advantage, which is estimated at about 3 or 4 tenths per 10 kilos less fuel on board. The F1 has to look at the F2 or the GP2 and adjust their budgets, “he said.
The Ferrari more Spanish with Banco Santander
The bank appears next to the white coat and repainting of the wings, something almost unheard of. They are only the official colors, the Model 2010, the 28th.

Banco Santander sweeping the new Ferrari, presented Wednesday to the media in his new official colors. To view the 2010 car design will have to wait to January 28. What will not change now is that the team will be more Spanish than ever, not only by Fernando Alonso, but also by the large bank’s presence in the car. Rarely in history had cornered a brand so much attention on Ferrari’s new weapon, displacing even the ‘title sponsor’ such as Marlboro, which maintains the exclusivity of the bonnet.
Santander The word appears in the rear wing and the striker, who will be white, something that had not happened since the ’70s, except a slight incursion into the 90s. The brand is also present in the deflectors under the hill, in the rearview mirror and on the pontoons. Furthermore, it appears next to ‘cavallino’, which is an almost unprecedented novelty. Literally, where he is photographed by shooting, the Spanish bank leaves portrayed, a successful negotiation of bank marketing.

Banco Santander will provide the 40 million over 5 years (200 in total) and will sponsor the races in England, Germany and Italy, while it is second sponsor of Brazil and two in Spain.

Montezemolo stings Schumi
Ferrari president ironic about the return of the German, but in Mercedes: “I was to pay him back the urge to run.” Then on Alonso: “It’s a real man team, more than Raikkonen was great. Who am afraid more of Hamilton-Button or Brawn-Schumacher? None”

President of Ferrari, Luca Montezemolo
FIORANO, 18 December 2009 – The Siamese twins torment Luca di Montezemolo. Last year, the same brother Raikkonen, the one in 2009 had “taken over” the most talented Finn who first year at Ferrari was able to take the world title, had disappointed a lot ‘. Now twinned with Michael Schumacher (who “swore at Monza: Ferrari is my family, I’ll stay for life”), “as the Prancing Horse has to offer him a car wants to run with the Mercedes.” “It’s extraordinary story of the twins,” said Ferrari president, with the pleasure of taking off a sassolone the shoe in the traditional Christmas dinner for the exchange of greetings with reporters. As with Kimi wrong, even with Michael (which he tries in vain to call during dinner) chooses the road of irony.
F1: Schumacher close to Mercedes with the blessing of Ferrari

The Ferrari team announced Monday, December 14 it would not prevent the departure of Mercedes in the German Michael Schumacher, World Champion Formula 1 seven times and consultant to the Scuderia since the end of his racing career, in 2006.
According to reports, he would be on the verge of signing a contract with Mercedes, who recently assumed control of the team Brawn. According to the electronic edition of the daily Bild, Schumacher has given his verbal agreement with Norbert Haug and Ross Brawn, the owners of the Mercedes team. The Ferrari boss has reacted to this hypothesis. “It is clear that if he decides to take another route, the agreement between us will no longer be valid, it makes sense,” said Luca di Montezemolo. “It can not work for one of our competitors and us together,” he added. Schumacher said in September that it would work for Ferrari for three more years, but the president of the Italian team said that the sentence was “no commitment”. “I did not yet spoken.’s A friend but not a member of our team, but he is a consultant for our road cars,” he added.
Schumacher had planned to return to F1 in August driving a Ferrari to replace Felipe Massa seriously injured in a racing accident. He was waived because of the aftermath of a neck injury suffered earlier in the year in a motorcycle accident. Ferrari had also considered the possibility to assign a drive when the leave to bring three cars in Grand Prix but he was given the charge of Formula 1 were opposed to this project.
