Americans masters 4×400

The United States retained their 4x400m relay title gentlemen final race of the World Championships in Athletics 2009, 2 min 57 sec 86/100, ahead of Great Britain (3:00.53) and Australia ( 3:00.90), Sunday in Berlin.

The American relay team, consisting of Angelo Taylor, Jeremy Wariner, Kerron Clement and LaSahawn Merritt was defending champion but also gold medalist at the Olympic Games in Beijing.

Americans hold the title since 2005. In 2005 and 2007, they had anticipated the Bahamas.

The United States has won in the 4x400m relay team favorite ladies 3 min 17 sec 83/100, ahead of Jamaica (3:21.15) and Russia (3:21.64).
