It will be a struggle for the former champion of the super mid-ways of the WBA since he lost his belt in the hands of Daniel Santos on July 11 2008.
“This defeat, it has been a blessing,” said Alcine. “Sometimes you have to loose to grow. I sincerely believe that it gave me something positive. ”
33 years old, Alcine has a lot to do to regain its place among the world elite.
“It will find its place in the world rankings with a win against Mitchell,” says promoter Yvon Michel. “Then it will be us against the opposing candidates. And combining wins, we believe it will end up in the ranking of two or three best of three battles. ”
To assist in its quest for another championship, Alcine can count on one ally, since it has recently joined with the former coach of Arturo Gatti Buddy McGirt.
“It’s the coach that I need,” said Alcine. “This is a guy who does not let a minute of rest. I think it will change my technique and I will improve my endurance. ”
For his part, Mitchell has a record of 22-5-1. Eleven of his victories were recorded by K-.O.
