Woods returns to Masters

Tiger Woods announced that he will return to competition at the Masters next month, ending a career break of four months caused by a sex scandal that has greatly tarnished his reputation.

“The Masters is the first major tournament that I won and I devoted a great respect,” Woods said in a statement. After a long but necessary period away from golfing, I’m ready to start my season in Augusta. ”

This tournament will be held from April 8 to 11.

Woods has not played since November 15 and winning the Australian Masters, his 82nd victory in a tournament on the international stage. Twelve days later, he struck a tree with his car outside his residence, which resulted in a series of revelations about his private life.

He explained that when he decided to race again, he seemed “obvious” that the Masters would be the first tournament he could play.

“I have always paid special attention to the majors and, as a professional, I think I must be in Augusta, even if it is long enough that I have not played,” Woods continued.

Woods has won four times at the Masters, but his last victory at Augusta was in 2005.

The highest paid sportsman in the world has in recent months a break in his career, after confessing to “breaches of personal” or many extra-marital escapades.

This case revealed a suspicious car accident last November 27, the superstar has toppled from its pedestal, and so tarnished his image among its parrainneurs advertising have turned their backs.

He remained in a clinic in Mississippi from December 31 to February 11, before visiting a clinic in Arizona to undergo family therapy. He then resumed training, joined last week by his coach Hank Haney.

“I’ve been in therapy for almost two months in a specialized center and I continue my treatment. Even if I return to the competition, I still have much work to do in my life.”

Some information has revealed that he could play the Tavistock exhibition tournament next week in Orlando, followed by the tournament Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, where he is defending champion and winner six times.
