A step ahead for Miyazato

Mika Miyazato of Japan shot a 67, five under par on Friday, taking the lead by a stroke at Evian Masters LPGA.

Under a cumulative of 135, nine under par, Miyazato has a stroke ahead of the French Gwladys Nocera (67). Miyazato has recorded six birdies, while Nocera got an eagle and five birdies.

Miyazato, 20, has had to deal with two delays because of rain, a short in the morning and a longer mid-afternoon.

Nocera has prevailed 10 times on the European circuit feminine tournament in Evian by cons, it has never finished in the top 40 in five appearances.

The South Korean Jeong Jang is 137, one stroke better than a group of four golfers.

Defending champion Japan Ai Miyazato shot a 72, residing at six shots back.

Michelle Wie (77 for 145) initiated the day in a deadlock in sixth place, but has concluded in a tie for 46th – partly due to a quintuple bogey at the 10th hole.
