MONACO – The 13 Formula One teams will present their vehicles for 2010 in a joint exercise next month in Valencia.
The executive director of Mercedes, Nick Fry, said Thursday that the presentation will be “a great event.”
“The teams agreed to make a joint presentation,” said Fry. “It shows we’re working together.”
The filing date has not been decided, but will be just before the first test of the season at the Cheste circuit in Valencia. The Association of Formula One Teams still discussing the logistics.
“I’d pass what we do, but it will be something very innovative,” said Fry. “We will do our own individual submissions. We can make something much better for the public.”
Fry also said that Mercedes, which bought Brawn Grand Prix last month, will announce its drivers in early January. Nico Rosberg already signed world champion to replace Jenson Button, and has been linked with a comeback from German Michael Schumacher.
“This year we learned that we must have two drivers capable of scoring points in every race,” said Fry. “With the lack of evidence is very difficult to claim that a young driver does, so the priority on our list are people with experience in Formula One.”
