He went to high school in Snellville, a school called Brookwood High school, where he also was a football letterman for 2 years. After high school, several division one colleges recruited him, with some of them including Georgia, Clemson, Michigan, Arkansas, Alabama, Kentucky, Auburn and Ohio State. On the other hand, he went to college in Maryland, where he acquired a degree in criminal justice and criminology in 2006.

While in college, he played 50 games, with 37 left tackle starts. In his first year, Steve Heyer played 13 games, with one game where he started. In his second year, he also played 13 games, and was able to finish the season as the lineman with the second best rating. In his third year, he started in all of his 11 games and was the lineman with the highest rating for that season in the team. In his final year, he was honorably mentioned as the All-ACC lineman, after he had been chosen to play at the Champs Sports Bowl, where he made an excellent impression. His college career ended with his selection to play in the Hula Bowl of 2007.

Cade B. McNown was born January 12, 1977, in Portland Oregon. He is a former American college and professional athlete who was a quarterback in the NFL. He played for UCLA when he was in college. While playing for UCLA, he was drafted in the first round by the Chicago Bears. McNown still maintains many of the total-offense and passing accounts. The 4-0 results against USC is still a record distinction for a single quarterback of UCLA.

On October 9, 2009, McNown was initiated into the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame. He played as a Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, and San Francisco 49ers professional. After the scouting combine, Doubts were expressed by some scouts about McNown’s throwing arm’s power. Since Jim McMahon, McNown was the Bears quarterback highest-drafted. Cade Mcnown started his first game for the Bears on October 10 following a hamstring injury the previous week. During the game on December 26 following a poor performance against the Rams, he chose to sit out during the second half. He broke rookie records for completions and passing attempts by the time he had finished the season.

He was named the starter over Matthews, though that season’s performance was obviously worse. Consequently, the Bears fell to 1-6 under McNown, inspiring the home crowd to chant for Miller’s return. McNown suffered a devastating shoulder injury during the seventh game of the season. Cade Mcnown started one more game that season, against San Francisco, and benched himself for the last game of the season. During the 2001 preseason, McNown was traded to the Miami Dolphins.

He dropped down the depth chart in Chicago, below Matthews and Miller, and ended up in the competition for the position of third-string against Danny Wuerffel. The Dolphins placed him as the third-string quarterback, and McNown saw no game play at all that season. Then McNown was traded by the Dolphins to the San Francisco 49ers for a unconfirmed seventh-round draft pick for the 2002 offseason. By then, former head coach of UCLA, Terry Donahue, was the general manager. The 49ers were searching for a quarterback and interest in McNown was briefly raised.

Although McNown started a competition for the Jeff Garcia’s backup spot with Brandon Doman, Tim Rattay and Giovanni Carmazzi, he re-injured his shoulder that preseason. He was placed on injured reserve when the revelation of his needing surgery at the season-end was made. The 49ers released McNown the offseason of 2003. The Calgary Stampeders acquired his rights shortly thereafter even though he was never formally signed.
