PostHeaderIcon Manchester City refuses to exchange Carlos Tevez

Manchester City have rejected a transfer request in writing by his star striker, Argentine Carlos Tevez, the club announced Sunday.

“It is with disappointment that we confirm to our supporters that Carlos Tevez Tevez gave us a transfer request in writing. The club also confirmed that it was rejected,” said Manchester City in a statement.

Eight days ago, Tevez did not hide his anger when his coach Roberto Mancini had left at the end of the match against Bolton. The incident was interpreted as a sign of deteriorating relations between Argentina and Italy.

The British press also argues for several months that Tevez was homesick and suffering from the absence of his two daughters remained in Argentina.

“Roberto Mancini and the whole club have shown and continue to be sensitive to the situation Carlos, including the fact that his family is abroad,” said City in a statement.

Suspended for Saturday’s game at West Ham (3-1), Tevez was given permission to travel to South America, said the club.

“The transfer request in writing contrasts sharply with the position posted by Carlos both in public and within the club,” added Manchester City.

In an interview with the club’s official magazine, published earlier this week, Tevez, still under contract for three and a half years, said he had no return permanently to Argentina or retire.

Manchester City has challenged “representatives” of the player, who asked several times in recent months a “renegotiation”. “In keeping with club policy is not to renegotiate contracts in mid-season, it was not accepted,” said City.

Manchester City has joined an interim head Saturday in the Premier League, trailing only on goal difference from Arsenal.

Tevez is second in the Championship scoring charts with ten goals for England.

Arrived from Manchester United 18 months ago, Argentina has made it essential for City, scoring 39 goals in 60 matches.

Xavi is also part of the Spanish world champion but was less prominent qu’Iniesta.

Lionel Messi chains the benefits of high fly to Barcelona but has completely missed the World with a team coached by Argentine Diego Maradona and humiliated in the quarterfinals by Germany (0-4).

The biggest loser of the passage of 23 to 3 players from the list of suitors – which does not already figured the double scorer in the finals of the Champions League, never Diego Milito French – is the Dutchman Wesley Sneijder (Inter Milan).

Sneijder had won everything-or almost-club in last season with the Italian Cup, the Italian league and the Champions League. At the World Cup in South Africa, he wore the ‘Oranje’ to the final. But since then, he drags his sentence in a club.

On the occasion of the Golden Ball will also be appointed on January 10, in particular, the coach of the year.

PostHeaderIcon Tiger Woods played his best years as the Chevron World Challenge

Tiger Woods begins to resemble what it once was in the Chevron World Challenge.

Woods had a great start on Friday and avoided bogeys at the second round to put a 66 (minus-6), sufficient to enable it to widen the gap to four shots in the head last tournament of the season on the PGA Tour.

The American was then left with a cumulative 13-under (131), its highest score after 36 holes this season – by six strokes.

“I’ve already found here before, so it’s a funny feeling,” Woods admitted. This is the kind of situation where we say we will apply the same game plan tomorrow, by going on field and finding a way to maintain momentum while addressing the par-5. ”

Woods hit a 4-iron to a difficult position and saw his ball stop about eight feet from the cup for an eagle on the second hole. He posted a cumulative under-5 on the par-5 in a second round in a row.

Woods therefore has a four-shot lead on the Open champion United States Graeme McDowell, who played 69.

“Sometimes during a tournament of four rounds, there is a day where you’re not at our best,” said McDowell. I am therefore pleased to have played less-3, although it was not my better performance. ”

Rory McIlroy, who was in the same group as Woods for the first time, committed a double bogey on the 18th that forced him to close the second round to 70. It lags a blow to McDowell, like Luke Donald, who shot a 66.

Paul Casey scored a hole in one on the 12th en route to a second round of 65 (under-7). Bubba Watson has achieved one of the hardest shots in golf – an albatross – when he stalled his second shot from the fairway on the par-5 16th hole. This enabled it to deliver a 69, which does not prevent however to be still at 14 strokes of Woods.

PostHeaderIcon Federer is proud of his 2010 season

The others can think what they want. Roger Federer believes that for its part had a very good 2010 season, which began with a victory at the Australian Open and he entered Sunday with a victory at the expense of Rafael Nadal in the Finals of the ATP.

“Whenever people say losing speed, I’m able to bounce back,” Federer told Monday during a telephone interview as he waited to catch his flight out of London.

The winner of 16 Grand Slam titles has admitted that Nadal was sovereign in 2010, reviving the global leader in favor of three major titles.

But Federer said he was happy to have overcome a loss of power in mid-season – defeated in the quarterfinals at Roland Garros and Wimbledon – to finish the season strong. Federer has been at the expense of those defeats Robin Soderling at Roland Garros and face Tomas Berdych in London after reaching at least the semifinals of 23 consecutive Grand Slams.

Also, Federer has dropped a little laugh at the assertion that he only played well early in the season and the end of 2010.

“For some, it’s almost as if I had offered to poor performance throughout the summer or that I had not played at all. It’s hardly the case. I played again and again. I had some good matches, “he said. And then I suffered a few defeats tough, some guys have played better than me, and suddenly the first half of the season was over. But I really feeling of having had some good weeks. ”

Following his disappointment at International of France and Great Britain, some are again put to doubt him. Federer did not let these comments bother him.

He is aware that opinions are changing.

“I’m not angry. As an athlete, we must remain open to criticism because it’s not everyone who shares the same opinion. Everybody does not like the same players,” said Federer, who has slipped to third in the world after Wimbledon, but that will end the year at the second position.

“The rankings are changing rapidly. Right now I’m focusing on the long term and, by doing that, I keep my composure in difficult times.”

He maintained a perfect 5-0 and won 10 of her 11 sets in the final tournament of the season in London, crowning the whole by a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 Nadal Sunday.

“It’s special to play the last game of the season against Rafa, because you can enjoy it more instead of running to play the next tournament,” Federer said.

The top two players in the world have a record of 1-1 against each other in 2010. During his career, Nadal leads the series 14-8.

“When he plays well, it’s hard to find solutions against him,” said Nadal.

PostHeaderIcon Man City remains in the “Big Four”

Manchester City stayed in the Big Four Championship in England after its 4-1 win over Fulham on Sunday at the 14th day and fight for the title with Chelsea, beaten 1-0 at Birmingham, “MU” , winner of Wigan 2-0, and Arsenal defeated Tottenham by 2-3.

During a one-sided first period, the Citizens have scored three goals for Tevez, Abaleta and Yaya Toure. The second period was enough for Carlos Tevez to make a double and take sole lead the scoring charts. With 25 points, Mancini’s men are just a length of Arsenal (3rd), Chelsea and Manchester United, the duo head with three ahead of City.

Saturday, “ManU” took full advantage of Chelsea’s defeat to Birmingham, his third in four games, and the first loss at home to Arsenal coming up for the Blues lead the Championship (28 pts).

This is the kind of day that Sir Alex Ferguson relishes. In 24 years at the helm of MU, the Scottish manager has been very afternoon when his team takes advantage of the mistakes of his rivals for the title.

Far from being great, the Red Devils, thanks to Patrice Evra (his first goal in three years) and small Javier Hernandez, won a decisive victory for the rest of the season.

Again, as since the beginning of the season, the game offered by “MU” has been disappointing, even against 9 to 11 for thirty minutes. United now waiting for the return to fitness of Wayne Rooney, standing ovation for his coming into play in the 56th minute and missed an opportunity late in the game.

For its part, Chelsea, the defending champion, lost for the third time in the last four league games after suffering the law of Liverpool (2-0) and Sunderland (3-0).

Championship relaunched

The Blues have conceded a goal yet and, especially, were once again unable to register a to a team from Birmingham, only 14th. Even if Chelsea retain his place at the top of the Premier League, the crisis is here and there.

The Gunners, they were leading 2-0 at half time against Tottenham before sinking and bowing 3-2. This defeat, the first at home against their hated neighbor for 17 years, recalled all the shortcomings of this team, young and bright, but suffers from a lack of maturity and experience crying.

Not the players Arsene Wenger would have lost this match. Yet they lost, cashing purposes of chicks and they missed the opportunity to take the lead in the Premier League.

Bolton, now fifth, has signed a stunning victory over Newcastle (5-1). The Trotters, which produce a very nice football, are currently the biggest surprise of the season. Liverpool, West Ham won easily 3-0, continuing its recovery and now points to ninth place.

The day also marked the first appearance of the 1998 world champion Robert Pires with Aston Villa (13th), which did not prevent the “Villans” to lose 2-0 against Blackburn (11th).

“Weltmeister” (world champion in German), “exclaimed Vettel’s team on the radio of the car, when Rosberg has reached the finish line fourth.

“Unbelievable!” Thank you, “Vettel said in a tired voice, while the engineers and team members were going to Red Bull warm hugs.
